Rear interior cargo basket! 2-door and 4-door!

What did you use for the shelf you have installed below the JCR basket? I am looking for something like that to mount my traction boards on in cargo area.

That’s a 2’x4’ sheet of plywood that I bought pre-cut from Home Depot. I covered it with marine grade vinyl from a local fabric shop.

I bought the JCR basket awhile ago but one of the things I didn't like was how the basket attaches to the bracket, nut and bolt. There wasn't any quick way to remove the shelf without pulling out some tools. Then I had an idea, GPCA put their GP-Star Tie-Down Bolt Set on sale so I bought a set, they work perfect with the shelf. Now I can remove the shelf quickly and easily.

Could this work as a security enclosure for 4-dr, if you have your stuff in something like a Pelican Case underneath? Seems like nobody could remove pelican case, or open the pelican case?

Yes. I believe that would work.

First time seeing this... I like how in the 2 door version it essentially covers the entire cargo space so when the top is off it acts kinda like a tonneau cover and keeps people from just reaching in and taking stuff out of the back.

I have a 4-door so not so much. I bought the Ford tonneau cover but I don't like how it fastens to the tailgate and it's annoying putting it back on when I take the top off.

Not going to lie, I'm gonna build something kinda like this myself but that covers the entire cargo area on a 4-door. We just got a water jet at work and we have a powder paint line too, sooo, ya... Thanks for the idea, sorry that your product doesn't exactly fit my need.

Have you looked at creating a shelf that works with 4-dr hard top/No top and doesn't need side panels?

@JcrOffroad Dumb question, but I don't have my 2 door yet, so i can't tell from the pictures. Does the 2 door version cover the entire cargo area or rather, if the top is off and the tailgate is shut, is my stuff underneath your shelf safe?

the tailgate curves, so you could react in and pull stuff out if it would fit between the gate and basket.

Does the shelf attach to the brackets that come with the side cargo molle panels? Or the molle panels themselves? I watched the install video for the cargo panel and it sounded like he said they attached to the brackets.

The brackets needed for installation to the molle panels come with the basket.

Can you work on a cargo cover that doesn’t use the tiedowns and secures the back area when the top is off?
