Why yes you can remove the cage by cutting it off or perhaps something else, it's an extremely terrible idea to run with with just a windshield. It might look cool but is looking cool worth one's life? There's a reason race cars have them, there's a reason Baja 1000 racers are required to run with them.

I just posted this in a separate thread; and yes Ford does not call it a “roll cage” however; it is tested for safety in the event of a rollover,

My understanding is that the Sport Tubes on the Bronco are plenty strong, so unless you are planning some Ultra-4 style runs you should be pretty safe in most conditions.

Here’s the article;
The “Sport Tubes,” Ford's Chief Program Engineer Eric Loeffler told me, are made of boron steel “so that they can take the roof crush requirements with good package size.”

And no, I don’t see cutting out the stock bars, as they are integrated into the whole Bronco body, maybe adding a cage, if you can fit it in.

The Bronco R is a race truck. It probably has very few if any common parts with the street legal Broncos we will be driving. Look at NASCAR pretty much the only thing that is common on those is the manufacturer badge. They build roll cages from scratch.

The so-called Sport Tubes are made of Boron steel, same with the A,B,C Pillars very strong and if you cut those out the vehicle will lose most of its rigidity.

The body will lose it's structure. It still has a full frame. True race spec cages are welded to the frame not the body. In the case for the Bronce unless you are going to run a full glass body the factory "cage" will likely have to stay in place and the real cage will be built around it.

In other words, subjective ideas of what looks cool have precedence over safety standards?
and? with that in mind, then there should be no bronco. no mustang, no corvette, no 8000 lb 700hp 1000 ft-lb f-250, we should all be in yugos and smart cars and have speeds limited to 45 because it is safer.

Pretty sure not bolted on.
Sawzall, angle grinder would get it off. Good luck
Actually, apparently a sawzall or an angle grinder can’t remove it, because of the boron steel reinforcements fire/Ems crews are having problems cutting open vehicles, even the high force sheers can’t cut through the boron pieces. Needs a plasma torch. But, still holds true that the sport tubes on the Bronco are actually a structural part of the tub assembly.
