Like a lot of folks, the overuse of the script emblems has turned me off on it.
I thought it was a cool idea in the beginning, but so many are doing it, and now I don't know that it really fits that well, personally, now seeing it more and more.
Just my opinion.
Whoever has the script, if you like it, that's all that matters.
But this is a bit of mesh of old and new, and kinda cool.
Not for me, specifically, but I respect the vision and work put into it.

I designed the script, sent it over to a vinyl place and asked them to make it a MIC gray color with an orange border.
Like you I wanted to blend the old with the new. I started down your path by purchasing a old school emblem (Bronco script with the sport rectangle). I carefully removed the "Sport by grinding the letters off but it quickly became messy.
I then drew up the Badlands logo that you see first in CAD and converted it over to a PDF and had those 3D printed. They looked nice but I didn't have any faith that they would be durable so I went the vinyl sticker route.
So I can appreciate the work you've done and it looks nice. Good luck seeing it through.
