Hey friends new to the site. Looks like a great one with lots of great knowledge to be had. With that being said.
My wife and I are looking are purchasing a roof rack system for the rig. It would just be too good one kayak. She would like to be able to still remove the front two panels of possible. Not looking for something that will break the bank either. Thanks in advance.

If you can find a Factory Roof Rack, I can confirm that the front panels can be removed (carefully) with that.

I have the trailrax and I’m pretty happy with it. Front two panels can still be removed easily. I think the middle can but haven’t tried it. Whatever rack you get, be VERY careful about righting down on mount above the windshield. Lots of people have broken the accessory bolt off the welds

Yep. Those little nut and stud combos are delicate. Just snug them down.

How about the middle ones?
Hard for me to say, because I don't have the so-called 'middle' panel (lol). Yes, I believe that it can be removed as well. The Rack spans from the windshield to the clamping spot at the front of the rear section. You can also just get a 1/2 rack for just the rear:

depending on how the stuff attaches to the roof, can confirm the RCI half rack would still allow the front panels to come off

I have the Hooke Road Discovery Rack and you can remove the front and middle panels with it on.

Another vote for Trailrax. I've never pulled my panels but there's plenty of clearance to get all 3 of them out.

Cross bars are good for taking different sort of accessory mounts also including more traditional rack stuff.

Only down side is they are a touch pricey.
