Dude, my thoughts exactly. It is impossible to get 20 mpg on a 2.7 squatch and drive like a man. 😂
I drive like a man... might be a grandad but still... LOL

I have been averaging 22.6 on my 2 door Sas- around town and also on a recent 400 mile highway trip driving 68 MPH. I have 5300 miles on it and the mileage has been the same. I drive it "normal" in normal mode, 87 octane. Pretty good considering what it is. My 23 daily driver GTI is the gas guzzler- driving it baby footed I get only 30 on my trips to work, driving only 55-60 MPH steady speeds. Driving that thing 70 or more it gets barely better than the Bronco. I thought the Bronco would be the gas guzzler, LOL.

Yeah, cuz driving so fast gets you there what, a couple minutes faster? I don't drive slower so much for the mileage than not to get all wound up driving fast and racing all the other amped up jokers on the road.

I used to drive 90 in my old hotrod pickup but nowadays I'd rather get there alive and relaxed than agitated or dead. Zooming through traffic on the regular is what's boring, at least to me. I'd also rather take a scenic backroad that's 55 than some backed up interstate through the concrete jungles.

2dr 7MT Badlands. Got around 16.5mpg average for the first ~3500 miles on 87 octane. Includes some off-roading, but generally just normal driving (in Normal mode).

Switched to 93 octane for 2 months and got 19.3mpg.

Have had the Ford Performance 2.3L tune for just a couple of fill-ups and am more like ~17.5mpg.

All figures calculated, as the dash readout is always 1 - 1.5mpg high.

Hand calculate to get a more accurate MPG, instead of what the dash is showing.

2-dr manual BD was getting about 21-22mpg. Installed a BAT wind deflector and cargo basket with wind deflector on top and now get about 19-21mpg.

Is that report something you generated yourself?
https://www.fuelly.com

Works great. Every time I fill up I send a text message with miles driven, fuel price/gal, and how many gallons. It keeps track of everything else and put it in neat charts for me

I found that the higher the octane the better the gas milage . I use 93 octane and get between 24-26 miles per gallon combined city/highway

I'm averaging about 19.5 (2.3 manual badlands close to 10k miles, typically 91 octane). Worst tank 13.5mpg (south dakota headwind on day 2 of ownership...) best tank 27.5! Which is why I'm posting. Turns out the Bronco is pretty efficient idling around Yellowstone in 6th gear at 45mph.

I was up there for work and had to traverse the park a few times (180 miles one day, 165 the next). I was pretty surprised how good the gas mileage was, the dash listed an overly optimistic 28.5mpg.

I have noticed an increase in mileage this summer, not sure if it is summer gas or breakin or both. Seemed like most tanks last winter were under 19 but last last month it seems like I'm getting 21mpg per tank (not including the park outlier).

On the way home, the first 100 miles was at 70mph, dash said 23, the next 200 miles at 81mph. Hand calc says 19.9 for the trip. So I figure I got about 19mpg at 80, 22mpg at 70. The dash seems to be 1mpg high compared to hand calc.

I am at 650 miles on mine and I am averaging 13.3 mpg mixed between interstate and city driving with 93 octane in every tank, except for the complimentary first tank from the dealership. The dealership did drive it 90 miles trying to replicate a powertrain malfunction and at the end of that, it was getting 12.1 mpg. I thought it would improve more than that with premium fuel. I don’t feel like I’m really hammering on the gas or anything but I am going to try and be easier on it I guess…
