Almost 2yrs with my 22’ Badlands MT w/ 10k miles and for the most part have been very happy with it. Granted there have been some minor issues but generally very solid. However, I am now dealing with some of the worst dealer service I have ever experienced and am open to your feedback.

Apparently all the symptoms and the 260+ page thread on the MT sync ring TSB wasn’t enough proof for my service advisor that my truck was suffering this failure. His response is that these trucks are made for off-roading and therefore lack proper sound deadening. The sound is normal. That the MT also is prone to “gear rollover” and that it’s also normal. Seriously?

After some hard conversations they are reluctantly perusing the TSB but made a note not to expect anything since it won’t fix the issue and that it’s being done as a good faith gesture. Honestly I have zero confidence that they are actually going to perform the TSB and just say they did. How could I tell right? The car is under warranty, just fix it.

Additionally, It’s throwing several codes all at once for Hill start Accent warning, Hill decent control fault, Powertrain malfunction, Pre collision assist not available. They attribute this to the fog lights I installed. So apparently using the prewired system routed to the overhead AUX switches is interfering with the “gateway” system and causing these codes. So, apparently the using the prewired lighting system severely compromises its drivability. Unbelievable.

Brake system failure warning TSB was addressed and will possibly remedy these codes. Don’t see how they’re related but at this point go for it.

I know they’re are some success stories here and plenty of examples of dealers doing the right thing. It seems that getting your issues resolved properly lies almost entirely with whose hands it’s in.

Did you ever find out why your vehicle was throwing all of those codes? My 22 Badlands MT just started doing that two days ago. Not having any MT problems, just started throwing all of those exact same codes and the dealer can't find anything wrong with it. Don't tell me they stuck with the reasoning that it was because you installed the fogs, that can't be it. I installed lights two years ago and never had any problems.
Thanks in advance.

You could try another dealer. Brief story- I bought a brand new Jeep Wrangler in 2005- manual 6 speed and even with dual tops. I had transmission trouble from day 1. The transmission emitted a huge clunk when taking my foot off the gas in any gear. Selling dealer stated it is normal. Second dealer stated it's normal. I was getting fed up at that point. I went to a third dealer and the service manager knew right away the transmission was defective. They replaced it without further questions. It was a PIA and took a lot of time but finally got resolved. I had to drive pretty far too to the third dealer but I loved the Jeep and was determined to get the issue resolved.

The truck was there for about five weeks while they address the transmission issue. Electrical apparently turned out to be a bad parking brake switch which was upgraded. I’m sure there’s more to it but nevertheless, it seems to be running OK now.

On a sidenote, I’ll was able to unlock/add sport mode through Forscan. I also have a throttle commander, and when I put it at its highest setting and change the goat mode to sport, the codes were thrown again. Disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and it reset. Hasn’t come back, yet.

When I spoke to my service advisor, we realized that there was a software update that had come through the day before and apparently that it’s causing issues as well.
