Setting the Map Scale

I know you can zoom in and out on the map, but I am trying to figure out how to keep in at the scale I set it to.

It defaults to 200ft. I'll zoom out to 1,000 ft and it'll stay there for the drive, but will rest to 200ft if I leave the screen or when I restart the car. I want it to default to where I set the zoom.

I can't find it in any of the preferences.

Somewhere (I do not know where) there should be a setting that turns the zoom/scale from 'automatic' to whatever you select. You'll have to dig into it...but it's in there somewhere. Or used to be.

That's the problem. I searched everywhere and the owner's manual doesn't mention it.

If anyone finds how to do stuff like that, I'll be a fan. I like having the GPS map full screen, but every time I shut the vehicle off and back on, it goes back to split screen between the GPS and whatever secondary graphic is set up.

This is a great aggrevation to me also; I set my preferred zoom, then as soon as I slow down it automatically zooms in. Like you, I have searched to Owner's Manual to no avail, even though it does have 2 pages about the map.
