At the risk of sounding a billion years old:

I blame influencer culture. People now buy stuff for clout. Maybe this always happened and social media just made it more visible, but I feel like people used to buy vehicles based on their utility.

Now they buy a bronco and put an eBay 3” body lift and 0-offset blue anodized dubs with 2” spacers and post #ruined to drive hate clicks. Bonus points if they complain about the ride quality sucking and/or trim rattling on their $70k bronco.

I consider his rig no worse than the ones I see with the colored nipple rings hanging off the front recovery points.

The same way you see Jeeps not really setup to go off-road. People want the platform and go the show truck route. Here in s.FL you see it all the time. Heck, there is a Jeep just down the street setup like this on 24's(?) deep dish with chrome everywhere and a fire extinguisher hanging off the back.

This is why we should divide Florida into two states.
