Hello. I will be upgrading my the stock wheels and tires (255/70R16) on 2025 2door base to takeoff Black Diamond aluminum wheels and 265/70R17 tires. Reading alot about possibly needing to modify the black rubber spacers that press against the spare tire. Both wheels have the same +55 offset.

Does any know or best guess if I need to modify or order a different size for those little rubber spacers with this larger tire/wheel combo?

Thanks!

Yes, you will likely need to adjust those rubber bumpers in order for the spare to fit properly. But you don't have to replace them. You can just take a sharp blade or razor and trim them down a half inch or so. I did the same and it was very easy to do.

Ok that's a smart idea too thanks. I wonder if they can be painted or plastidip maybe black to blend in or do you really notice it with the spare on?

I went from the 255s to 265s and had the issue. I was unable to remove the bumper for fear of breaking something, but got a 3/8" spacer for the wheel from Autozone which works perfectly

And if I go back to 255s (I might go 255/80 or 85 in the future) I can just remove the spacer
Ok I decided to try this method using a 1/4" spacer and seems to work well without any trimming of the rubber bumper so far. New tire without any spacer worked but those rubber spacers were really squished. Then used a 1/4" spacer and they're still squished a bit but definitely better.

Trial test drive and no rattle or movement noted so we'll leave it like this for now!
