Soft top extra panel removal

Hello everyone. The underside of the soft top has an extra panel glued to the bottom of the first 2 sections closest to the windshield. I’m reading on a lot of those, mine included, the glue is failing and causing the extra panels to droop.
Has anyone just removed the extra panels? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts on what it did to the sound levels and also maybe the impact it had on the heat from the sun in the front two seats. Thanks!

No way to remove all the adhesive. Probably make the top louder too. They are replacing mine from this issue.

Try parking it in the bright sun for a bit to warm it up (I know, winter...) and once it's hot and tacky, tack it back up, then get in and crank the AC to cool the glue back off and set it.

This actually worked remarkably well for me in arizona.
