What kind of effect, if any, have these added materials had on interior temperature regulation?
I have not checked any thermal loads before and after, so I could not provide any substantiated data for temperatures. Using “bro science” I would think adding air gaps via foam, thinsulate, and the foil back deadening mat would definitely help with insulation like those shiny foil heat emergency blankets I have in my survival pack I hope I never need 😂 . Similar idea behind home construction with the foam and thinsulate.

Sorry I didn’t even think about thermal data. That would be a neat test.

Yeah, I understand what it *should* do, but these things don't always create enough of a difference to make a difference.

Thermal regulation would be my primary interest in these kinds of products, I was curious if anyone has had some results from that perspective to share.

We manufacture insulated headliners for Broncos and Jeeps, so we've done quite a bit of testing on the thermal side. While every vehicle/setup is different, we've found that radiant barrier materials can make a significant difference in reducing heat transfer from the roof. We did a simple before/after test on a Wrangler using the same radiant barrier technology we use in our Bronco headliners and measured a 36°F reduction in temperature after sitting in the sun.

Video:

Not a Bronco-specific test, but the physics behind the radiant barrier is the same, and our Bronco and Jeep headliners utilize the same radiant barrier technology and similar multi-layer construction.

If the triangle gasket is whistling there in my photos that is your issue most likely. If your door is whistling at the top by your ear then carefully pull down the window gasket on the hard top and even a tiny bit eliminates the whistle. They move down a little.

wow! Did you take apart the dash for the firewall application? Id appreciate any insights into the process, I’m looking to start with the doors, then cargo. Have you done the wheel liners, I’ve heard this can be effective for road noise? I was contemplating upgrading the wheel liners to the aluminum aftermarket first and maybe sound deadening those instead of deadening the plastic.
