While there are some fantastic pre-cut sound deadening kits available, they unfortunately don't fit into my budget. However, I came across a video where someone used the Amazon Basics sound deadening material, and I thought I'd give it a shot.

I purchased a box that contained 9 pieces, each measuring 18"x32", and I must say, it was a great deal for the price. The material was packaged securely and arrived in good condition. Installing it was surprisingly straightforward if you have razor blades and a marker on hand. Instead of investing in a dedicated roller, I found that a short 2" piece of PVC pipe worked just as well to press the material down.

I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, as you can see in the pictures. One tip I'd like to share is to remember to place some pieces inside the jack area as well. If you're interested, I've included links to the material I used, as well as other miscellaneous items I found helpful for my speaker installation. I broke most of the white clips when removing the side plastic, likely I found replacements on Amazon that are better than OEM.

Just an FYI on this type of sound deadening. You don't need to cover every inch of a panel for it to work correctly. The purpose and goal of the product is to stop resonance and just putting some on the body panels does the job.

For sure. I followed the patterns from the pre-cut Dynomat. I then tap tested areas and added material where needed.

Did it help quiet the road noise?
These materials don't block road noise. They do reduce exterior high frequencies though. They will also help with rattles when installing a higher powered speakers. I'll be installing material in the doors and the door trim later this week.

Did the exact same thing yesterday. Looks great. I bought a box of Kilmat and a roller on Amazon for around $50. Did the entire back and used about half the box. Pretty easy. Toughest part is taking time on the side panels so you don't break clips...hate the sound of popping plastic.

Good to hear. I have a box of this stuff on my table waiting for the weekend.
