I did some more testing tonight. My very rough 4->5 is at light throttle and low rpm in Auto mode only. Manual mode OR heavy fun pedal in Auto mode pretty well make it a normal shift. Must be a SW bug.

Mine is too, but only sometimes. 5-6 shift sometimes too at light/medium throttle.

I don’t think I used Sport mode much prior to 1,000 miles, so I cannot compare before/after. But I don’t notice any particular rough shift points with my MT in Sport.
This entire thread is about the AUTOMATIC trans in the Raptor.

Of course since the AT in the non Raptors is the same, it's good to hear feedback from those owners as well.

Rough shifts in a MT is all operator error 😉

Yup, it's a bit unpredictable. My 4-5 shifts in Sport Mode on the way home tonight were pretty smooth.

Ford choosing to have the vehicle accelerate when I step on the brake in Sport mode was certainly a bold decision.

I only use sport mode in the mountains because the downshift strategy is good IMO the rest not soo much and I would just put in in M anyways using the paddles. 99% of the time I just run in Normal. if I want to be crazy, I can take my fast car out lol. 4L rock crawl mode is a train wreck and requires use of M.

I’ve noticed the harshest downshifting for me is from 4th into 3rd. The vehicle sometimes really lurches forward pretty hard leading to the acceleration I mentioned.

I agree @'18 M2 , 4-3 down while braking in Sport is harsh. But again, pretty sure your truck isn't accelerating...

the lurching forward is working against my break action. thank goodness for seatbelts.
