Anyone else have the issue with their steering wheel constantly notifying them to put their hands on it?

My hand will be on it, and I’ll be on a straight road and I’ll get prompted 2-3 times in a mile to put my hand on the wheel. It seems far too sensitive. And it’s annoying, I have to essentially jerk the wheel for it to notice my hand is on it.

I have the same thing. I've turned off driver attention in the settings but on any long straight road it will prompt me. I only have to move the wheel a little to get it to go away. I drive a long on this one section of road and it does it every time.

It seems like this would be a relatively easy fix. I haven’t had this issue in my other 2 cars that have this.

It’s the lane assist. Turn that off, the alerts will go away. It’s not tied to the driver attention settings.

Problem is that I like the lane assist. I find it quite useful.

Understood, just for awareness that lane assist is what triggers that alert.

Kind of crazy that the alignment is so good that it thinks your hand is not on the wheel. 50K miles and counting and it happens on almost every highway drive at some point.

That’s my point. The thing tracks so darn well. It really is uncanny.

Yup, it's a junk system. Even in the F150 with actual lane centering you have to constantly jiggle the wheel to keep the alerts away.

Ford needed to adopt a capacitive wheel before adding lane assist but that would've cost money and well...Ford.

Which is why they should have an option to turn just that part off without turning off lane assist.

If you do get a chance, please do. I am curious. It would be nice if this were an option to turn off without turning off lane keeping assist.

Did you try adjusting the alert/correction sensitivity for LKA? Just a guess that maybe that may help.

I haven’t. May be worth a shot.
