Are you saying when you hit the “pause” button on the steering wheel of your F150, the music or podcast is actually paused by music player or podcaster?
On my F-150, when I hit the mute button on the steering, it pauses whatever podcast or music is playing from my iPhone. The F-150 is a Sync 2 (?) pre-CarPlay. Works great! Hit the button (speaker symbol with the X through it) and it pauses everything.

Why? My music auto-pauses when I take a call.
When I get a call, my music automatically stops.

I don’t use my phone for music. It’s a terrible process and constantly gets interrupted if you mess about on your phone. I have a second phone I use for all my streaming and multimedia usage. Sorry should have added that into the first post.

We have a “mute” button but it doesn’t “pause”.

I'm surprised so many see no use case for this. I just picked up my Bronco, but I found myself looking for just such a button a number of times. Just one common example is pulling into a drive-through.

EXACTLY! Or, for those of you that are married to someone who talks, stops for 5 minutes and starts up again, such a button on the steering wheel is very useful! Trust me on this!

Uhh Ford gave you a button for that, it's the Volume Up button.

This thread is the biggest “1st world problem” thread I’ve read in a while…
Almost. The no temperature display on the knob cry-fest was probably the biggest. At least one poster ended up banned because of that one.

The difference between the button on the wheel and anywhere else is that I don’t have to look. I know exactly where that button is on my F-150 steering. Hit it and podcast pauses. Simple and quick. Just the way I’ve always done it. Hitting the touch screen requires me to look and the radio button is not a quick pause/play. I’m surprised that I appear to be the only previous Ford owner to has used that pause/mute button on the steering wheel that way.

What has this world come to? A person having to reach out and touch the dash of their brand new 60K off road vehicle to pause the music? It's a travesty!

For $60k+ it should know what I want and I shouldn’t have to touch anything.
