Sync 4 display - how to delete the zone on the right side?

Does anyone know how to delete the zone on the right side of the Sync display? I just want one full screen.

On mine there is a spot in the top left corner, I believe that has a kind of expand symbol when you push it the whole screen expands to full. This is fairly new due to an update.

I'll add another question to this thread: Since the last update my screen defaults to Google Maps, it used to default to my audio home screen. How do I get that back?

Bonus question, since that update the compass on the infotainment screen is stuck on North (the one on the IC works), anybody have a fix? I've tried the simple reset.
