On your OBX that plastic “piece” it pops into is the whole bumper. It’s all one piece. Be careful they don’t just use some 3m automotive adhesive glue on it. That kind of move has the body shop’s name written all over it.

B.T.W. Absolutely absurd to see that happening. They couldn’t get the wattage, heat management right on a license plate light🤦🏻

I’ve had the same issue on my Raptor where the light was so hot, it was melting and distorting the lenses. Fords fix, new lenses and new incandescent bulbs, the same bulbs that caused the issue. My fix Sylvania led bulbs, no issue since. Are your bulbs incandescent or led?

Thank you for confirming. I guess my fix is out the window. As stated earlier by Green Diamond not getting it right with wattage and heat management on something as simple as a tag light is crazy. I haven’t seen any other posts reference tag light melting. I am hoping that it was the one in a million bad LED tag lights. Please let us know what the fix ends up being.

I wonder if this has to do with zone lighting? Maybe a combination of it being on unknowingly during a hot day and just ended up melting it. Stretching here but that’s wild to see

They fixed the tag light today ,,got a new rear bumper, tag light, and tag light pigtail they routed the tag light wires out of the main harness in case they melt again they won’t mess up the other wires ,,they were trying to say a resistor in the light failed ,,it was all covered under warranty didn’t have to pay anything
