Wondering if anyone else has dealt with this issue...

Picked up my 22 Badlands last Friday and noticed the bottom driver side of the tailgate sits further in by about 1/4" to 3/8". The top of the driver side and the entire passenger side are all flush. The trim under the taillight does not appear to be loose or sitting further out than it should. The dealer had one other Bronco on the lot that was delivered about a month prior that had the exact same issue.

The dealer took photos and suggested that I take it to any body shop that I choose and have it repaired. They dealer would pay for the repair under the Ford warranty. In looking at it a little closer, there is a striker that is mounted to the body that looks like it could be adjusted out to fix the issue. I actually did this on a Jeep Wrangler TJ one time to fix a similar issue.

Any thoughts before I attempt to adjust the striker?

Mine is similar to this. Also the small panel between the left tail light and tailgate is so close it’s rubbing paint off now.

What was the final outcome of this? We just picked ours up and it’s the same way, did the dealer fix it? Our dealer doesn’t have a body shop and they would have to take it to a body shop to have it adjusted, not a big deal but wondering if yours got fixed.

I had a body shop look at it and pretty much decided it wasn't worth messing with. The body shop guy pretty much said it would require paint work and possibly a new tailgate to fix it. There are not adjustments to make to fix it. I've seen a bunch of other Broncos that are the same. I've got until the 3/36k warranty runs out to fix it if I change my mind. I did have the dealer document it before I left the dealer.

I just picked mine up on Saturday and it looks the same. I had the same question, so glad to find this thread and at least know it's the same across models.

@Ford Motor Company , are there any solutions for the poor fitment of the tailgate area? I have poor fitment of the lower driver tailgate and passenger upper area of the tail light.

We just traded in the early demo unit that we purchased back In January, it did not have the tailgate fitment issues that this new one does. The one we just traded had water leakage between the soft top and tailgate. The tailgate seems to fit tighter against the weather stripping on the soft top on our new one. I’m wondering if adjustments were made to the tailgate on newer models to address water leakage, possibly causing the poor body lines.

I just traded my 2022 BD 2dr for a 2023 BD 4dr and noticed I have the same problem. I was wondering if anyone had this issue resolved?

Good morning! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your tailgate concerns on my end.

I just purchased my 2022 Bronco a few weeks ago. It was a November build date. I have been really impressed with it... but was disappointed when I saw the misalignment on the tailgate. I started to wonder if it had been hit??!! I wondered if a tailgate hinge bracket would help with the alignment??

I purchased the Bronco at a dealership an hour away from me and won't be driving back and forth to work with them on this. I'm hopeful this amazing BroncoG6 forum may have some insight...

Has anyone found any resolution or reason for this? Can I bring it to any dealership to have looked at? Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Yeah - I noticed this on mine as well. Went to a lot and everything on the lot looked the same.
