Tailgate paint chipping inside. Any cover solution?

Anyone else experiencing the paint chipping off the inside of their tailgate? It seems like if anything slides around back there and hits the tailgate the paint chips off down to metal. Mine is getting destroyed and I was wondering if there is a cover anyone makes for the inside of the tailgate? Thank you!

A tailgate table saves some of it. Mine has dings, chips, and worn spots all around it though. The plan is to have it Linexed.
