I think the base will be phased out after a year or two.

I kind of agree with this for multiple reasons. Once ford picks up steam and elbows out the wrangler, there’s no need for this trim. Get it while you can. There’s no question that entry level price on the base is as low as Ford is willing to go - meaning least amount of profit they are willing to accept.

I view the base as an advertising expense for ford to break into the market...and it will eventually become irrelevant. They also spin it as ‘aftermarket’ ready for the off roader crowd. But you know it’s all bs...for now...

Nothing is more telling that the base will be phased out than the big bend. Look at the price differential vs the content differential.

Base Models in general will be either non existent or rarely ordered by dealerships. Wouldn't surprise me if Base goes Fleet Only by 2023.

This is easy, just like Jeep, you won't find any two door model at all. After the first run on them to feed the hobbyist you will have to order them through the dealer. They don't sell.
