Going to have my front windows tinted to match the rear windows. I went to my local window tint expert and when I told him I wanted my windows tinted he winced. I’m like what’s up and he said it’s a pain in the ass because the door windows go down slightly when opening.

Does anyone know how these windows are getting tinted. I’m concerned with the process.

thanks.

Most modern cars and trucks windows drop a bit when the door is open. I would find a different shop. I had mine done with out any issues.

Frameless like a convertible car, so they go down when the door is open.
No idea how they do it but they say its a pain.

Your local tint guy must be garbage. They are fairly easy windows to tint, I work at a shop and it’s probably one of the easiest we can do.

You have to trick the door trigger into believing the door is closed by putting the latch mechanism in the correct position then the window stays in the up position as if the door is closed. Clean the window and prep it for the film, spray slip solution on the film and glass and position the film, then squeegee the film. Trim the edges if necessary then clean it up and call it a day.

I just had mine front windows done last week. The installer says that these are the easiest windows to do. Literally too the guy 5 minutes per side.

He never said he couldn’t do it. He’s got like 25 years experience. He’s done all my vehicles and they’re perfect. Not going with ceramic going to just match the rear tint.

what about the windshield? Isn’t there an extremely light tint that works well? Thought I’ve read that.

I went to my local shop, the same shop that I've used for all of my cars, and had mine tinted without an issue. Maybe you should look elsewhere.

I was concerned with this also. Installer said no worries. A lot of new cars are like that now. I’ve had no issues and it’s been on there for almost a year.
