Hey everyone! With the recent plummeting of prices (to the normal range they should be) for leftover 24 Raptors. I’ve been seriously considering swapping up from my badlands.

Two questions:

#1. Any recent purchases here? What’s the going interests rates for excellent 775+ Fico scores that we are seeing? Any bank in particular? I see Ford doesn’t post a specific rate either for the Raptor so curious what FoMo has been offering as well.

#2. Would anyone suggest waiting until we are in this same market situation next year but with leftover 25’s instead?

Thanks again ahead of time!

You can check the Ford site for offers but it doesn't look like anything for the Raptor in my zip code.

As for the cheapest rate, Navy Federal Credit Union is still the cheapest I've seen if you have any kind of military affiliation.

Who Can Join?

For more than 90 years, we’ve been providing financial support to the military, Veterans and their families. So, who’s eligible?

  • Active Duty—including members of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard and Space Force
  • Veterans—no matter how long you served, you’re in!
  • Immediate Family Members—including spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren
  • Department of Defense (DoD) employees

If you don't have any military affiliations, your best bet is to find a local credit union. The dealer isn't going to find the best bank for you, they're going to find the best bank for themselves.

Regarding question #2, a year can be a long time. If you're planning to go places and do things during that year that your Badlands can't take you, then consider getting the Raptor. Otherwise I'd stick with the Badlands.

Yeah, I’ve been just kind of doing a pro/con. My gut/crystal ball tells me that we will see deeper discounts for the 25’s. When the 26 refresh’s come out I think many will prefer those and wait.

In my case I love my badlands! Yet I still consider the raptor if the price was right.

Do they really just ride that much better, and have great suspensions? Or is it truly so big of a difference in its capabilities that it will mop the floor with a moderately modified badlands.

I guess that’s one of my biggest struggles. Do I

A: modify the badlands and stay the course
B: get the raptor because it’s at a price point now that modifying the badlands would exceed the difference

Get the best rate you can on your own. Let them know you have pre-approval. Do not tell them what rate you have and make them beat it. Worked for me. I'm happy to give the business to the dealer if they're giving me a great price. Rates suck going by fairly recent history but I don't see them dropping any time soon.

What kind of off-roading are you doing in your badlands? What type of off-roading do you plan to do with a Raptor? They may be $20k off, but the dealer will get you with your trade in value. I believe most rated are around 6%.

I financed $25k for my new Bronco 2 weeks ago. I have an 800+ credit score. Ford Credit offered me 7.55% for 36months. Dealer had a cheaper option, but it was one of those you cant pay off early.

Local credit Union is the best place to check. Most all, if not all, post their rates right on their website. In Iowa just last week I was seeing around 5.5% for new.

CU is the way to go. just checked 4.54%@36 range which isnt crazy given it was high 3s beginning of 2023. Yeah its not the 1.X rates, but its not north of 5% either.

The thing with Raptors is that you really do not need to put much upgrade budget into them if you don't want to, the build is just that good from the factory (and I think upgrades more are a question of adding utility like racks or ultimately doing some customization to make it more uniquely yours).

If you can get a really good deal on a Raptor and are in a good financial position on your Badlands (with regards to having positive equity and a decent trade in price), I don't think you'd be unhappy taking the plunge.

Personally test driving a Wildtrak back to back with a Raptor, the Raptor was well worth the extra money to me.

Secure your own financing but let the dealer finance manager see if they can meet or even beat it. Never take the first rate they get from the lender. Ask the finance manager to call to get a better rate. They are happy to do so. But you have to ask them to do it. They won’t offer to do it. If they offered to some folks and not others, I think they start to get into a grey area with fair lending. They have always found a way to meet or beat the rate on my financing.

Oh wow, that's crazy for good credit score / low term.

Occasionally, when Ford Credit is running a Promo, I'll see better rates than Navy Fed. And I recognize not everyone can get into Navy Fed, but local banks should be able to get close.

7.55%/36 isn't even on the same planet.

820 Credit score, 5% for 72 months through Bank of America as of last week. I hate dealing with BOA but it was the lowest I could find. I just finished up a loan with Ford Credit for 0% so I'm not too happy with 5% bahaha
