no need for a “kit” for the few that did that… you can just buy the kit and the extra panels you need for your extra space - or buy the 4 door kit which is the same priceNow you just need to add a kit for the 2 door with the rear seat delete.
Nope, no need. It fits inside the rear perfectly so it doesn't really move around at all.Does the plastic base plate anchor to the floor in any way? Are there any sort of tie-downs or anchors available to physically restrain the cargo other than North/South/East/West?
Appreciate the info. Sliding around is certainly part of the equation, but keeping things 100% in place in the event things go badly (ie a roll-over) is really more of a concern for my use case. I've got a home-brew baseplate bolted down to the factory anchor points with loops for ratchet straps that technically works, but it offers exactly zero adjustability so I'm looking for a new way to skin the cat. The packout style stuff has my interest but it's aweful pricey...Nope, no need. It fits inside the rear perfectly so it doesn't really move around at all.
Now you COULD certainly make this a permanent-type installation if you wanted.
What I would do, if I was doing this permanently, is I would just drill a hole in the matt where one of the anchor points bolts are. Then i'd just insert the bolt through the tmat and back into the tie down. That would make it more permanent. BUT it's not required at all.
You could even cut around where your tie downs are IF you still want to use the tie downs (a friend of mine did that with his floor matt, he just cut around where his tie down was so he could still use his tie down).
But as a whole this isn't really sliding anywhere as it fits pretty snug in the back.
Sorry but this will not keep your cargo secure if you roll your vehicle.Appreciate the info. All though I mostly agree. A anchored down cargo net system with carabiners attaching storage units can work... I'm no expert EMT, I have however been in a couple of roll overs.Sorry but this will not keep your cargo secure if you roll your vehicle.
Nor will the packouts...
Nor will ANY system unless you are drilling and strapping things down 100% tight.
If you roll your vehicle all of your cargo is going flying. Take it from someone who used to be an EMT... nothing you do short of a storage boxed that is locked and bolted to the floor will keep cargo from flying around if you roll your vehicle.
