Dumb, but hopefully a quick question: what size/type socket is used for removing the drain and fill plugs for the transfer case, etc?
Going to try doing this myself, and I don’t think I have the socket needed.
looks square and what 10 mm?

Ah.. so simple!

Since they are pipe threads, don't over torque them, or else you can crack the housing!

I always set my torque wrench to the lowest spec called for, and feel it out. If it feels tight before hitting the spec, that is good enough.

Since they are pipe threads, don't over torque them, or else you can crack the housing!

I always set my torque wrench to the lowest spec called for, and feel it out. If it feels tight before hitting the spec, that is good enough.
I happen to have a 3/8” torque wrench that goes down to 5ft lbs, the service manual says 18, at least for the t-case plugs, so this is perfect 👍
Always a good reminder though.
