Looking to buy new aftermarket wheels and looking for info on the tpms sensors. Buy factory sensors from ford or is there an aftermarket sensor that is better. Don’t mind paying the price, just want good, reliable sensor. Thanks, Chris

Plenty of aftermarket sensors. My shop uses Autel. They work on about 99% of vehicles. Theyre available at most parts stores but they require a tool to program.

I just used the MORE sensors off of amazon that another guy posted on here and has been using them for years on his F150s and broncos. I think he has multiples of both vehicles. Anyway, the worked flawlessly. I think 5 of them cost me $50-$60.

I got MORESENSOR Signature brand TPMS from Amazon, based on a recommendation from a forum member. Several thousand miles and have worked flawlessly on my Bronco. I put a link below to the particular sensor version I used, although oddly the Amazon page is saying they don't fit my 2023 Bronco, but they do.

On the other hand, I got a different version MORESENSOR Signature TPMS for my Subaru BRZ, and every few weeks the vehicle is telling me I have a tire inflation issue, which then goes away after some driving, so I'm not happy about that.

My other ride is a 2012 Mustang with 232,000 kms on it and it's still running the original Ford TPMS sensors that it came with so I'm thinking the Ford sensors are pretty good and near bullet proof. Especially considering that for the first 5 years, the car was my daily driver year round in Canadian Winters.

I put in about 1.5 years ago the Schrader 33500 EZ-Sensor when I switched from my Base tires to OBX tires. They've worked fine so far, and seem to be quite accurate. I had them programmed and put in by Discount Tires out here in Sacramento. Got them off Amazon. Not the cheapest ($23/each), but cheaper than OEM.

Maybe others can give names/numbers that don't have to be preprogrammed ???

Schrader 33500 EZ-Sensor Single SKU (314.9 MHz, 315 MHz, and 433 MHz) Programmable Snap-in Fixed Angle Valve Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor (TPMS), Requires Programming Before Installation

I went with the Schrader oem which was ML3T-1A180 also listed as TPMS68 off Ebay in a 5 pack. The truck would not pick them up automatically and I tried the relearn procedure with letting air out of the tires and that didn't work either. So I bought that TPMS19 (clone tool) tool off Amazon cheap which worked for the relearn. They have been working fine ever since.

Did these need to be paired or did they pick up on their own? The last set I bought was from Tirerack and they just work out of the box. Half the price of Ford's but that's still pricey.

I already had a amazon reset tool that was like $12, so I'm not sure. The guy on here that put me on to them said he didn't have to. I just put the bronco in training mode and then went around to each one and they picked up easily.

I didn't have to pair the sensors. Discount Tire installed the sensors, at the same time they were mounting/balancing my tires. I brought them back home in a van, and later swapped onto my Bronco. After a short drive the Bronco automatically recognized the new sensors.

I recall the sensors were described as pre-programmed or something like that. Meaning they were already setup for the vehicle to automatically recognize them.
