I haven't used that device myself (I have a mongoose plus), but it is reported to work with FDRS. FDRS software 2-day license is $50 at motorcraftservice.com.

thanks for checking back. I’ve had that in my Amazon cart for 3-4 months after I saw that post. Just want sure that cheaper option would work.

Any program to down load to use it or is it built into the dongle?

I'm curious why you ordered a new part when it is still under warranty. Did you modify it somehow?
Reason I do my own work is I have a photo graphic memory. If things are done, moved, or changed I lose my blue print in my head.

You'll need to install the windows driver for the dongle (provided by the manufacturer). Then the Ford FDRS software it will either automatically find it, or you will need to select it.

Got the dongle. Been trying. Fords software seems to be broke and won’t install. Go figure.

Trying my other laptop. Maybe computer related.

I didn't see any issues on Windows 11. Note that you should install fdrs and fjds, but do not install ids/vci/etc.

Won’t get past fords authentication.
Any ideas? May be the sight is down right now?

I don't remember exactly, but I think the non-dealer motorcraft is right and you use your motorcraftservice.com login/password (not the helminc license purchase login).

Big shout out to @Ducati1098 for identifying/programming the issues and @rtaylor for how to program it. Just did mine with the abs module update. Took about 4 minutes. TC button works now.

This is a dealer fixable item. Or you can make a $176 project out of it yourself and learn how to update modules.

Will need the interface dongle and a windows computer. Dongle is $120 and $50 for the 2 day license.

I used the vcx nano by vxdiag.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01EFWPAN0?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Go here and down load the second link (vxdiag) for the vx manager.

http://blog.vxdiagshop.com/2021/12/28/free-download-new-vx-manager-v1-8-6/

Next we’re going to this page and follow the instructions.

http://blog.obdii365.com/2022/02/18/set-up-vxdiag-vcx-nano-for-ford-ids-forscan-and-fdrs/#3

For me I had to down load FJDD and FDRS. FDRS is the program that you open. It told me the vci files were out of date and provided a link to down load it. Worked great after that.

Should all modules that are not green be updated? I only did the abs like you showed and it fixed my original problem. My ocd is curious though.

The green is showing modules that don’t have current DTC’s, orange/yellow means they do. The DTC’s in those modules are probably irrelevant though and unless you have an issue I wouldn’t worry about it. Did you clear all DTC’s after programming?

I did not. Should probably go back out and do that? Only issue I had is fixed now.

Yes, anytime you program something it’ll set random DTC’s in multiple modules. Clear all DTC’s and they will most likely all return to green.

Did a look through on the program. Didn’t see anything for how to clear it.
