Yep, it is a pain.
For the benefit of the thread, we have discussed this in other threads and it is of the upmost importance to get your backlash and pinion depth right. If not, you may shell your gears. Been there, done that. It is easy to mess up if you do not know what your doing and even then it may happen. If you are not a mechanic pay a professional.
