Well, I had a budgeting decision to make. Wheels and tires, or the trektop. Open air for the summertime won out.

Once everything was unboxed, took just under three hours. Everything was there, no issues other than a few scratches here and there on the rigid pieces. It all went together perfectly, although two pieces were mislabeled.

for anybody trying to install at home, there’s really nothin to it. However the install video by the bestop folks is perfect.

so, it is absolutely louder than the hardtop, but that is to be expected. It really has a great look to it. The slant back imo fits the two door very well. my budget influenced the choice to go with the black diamond instead of the twill, but I’ll be going back to the hardtop for the winter. Overall I’m very happy with it with one exception. The latches could be more traditional instead of whatever fancy idea they had with these ones.

pics will follow

I love the look of the Trek top, but I went Sunrider instead largely because I don’t have a suitable space to hang my top in the garage. For the small difference in money I think the black diamond vs twill is a mistake, but we all have our own decisions to make. Glad you can have a topless summer.

Yeah the latches are a little chintzy compared to MIC panels. It took me a little while to realize you need to use your thumb on the little trigger in case they get hung up latching/unlatching.

I understand the vinyl/twill, but I didn’t have the luxury of extra money for it. I just tell myself the black diamond is easier to clean haha. Anyway, here she is
