Looking to install a 2 inch coilover lift on a 23 OBX non-sas.

Just looking for yes/no/maybe in the poll. I know there will be a ton of different veiws and opinions. Feel free to leave a comment, but I'm just looking for a simple yes or no opinion. Thanks in advance. And yes I searched for days and read many different threads on this. :poop:

Also what should be the average install hours charged for a coil over lift. I was quoted 8 hours.

Short answer, no. The stock UCAs are some of the best OEM UCAs I've seen.
Now, there are many reasons to replace UCAs. Clearance, range of motion, ability for alignment that based on your specific needs you may want to. I'm 26.5 inches center axle to metal fender and still able to get in alignment, just barely. I can go to full droop without the UCA limiting and it clears the tire and coilovers. Eventually I will replace them, but as it is now, I don't have to.
Many shops will tell you it has to be done, because they want to sell them and bill install time.

I would say the big thing you want to watch is the diameter of the coilover kit you use. I am not sure how big you can go with a stock UCA. Most that I have seen with big diameter coilovers have had non-OEM UCA's on them.

Just remember like Kodiak said the upper UCA's are VERY good right out of the box and Ford used the same ones on all models.

I went with 6112 coilovers set at clip 6 in front and 5 in rear. I am netting 2in in the front over stock SAS and hey aligned with no issues with stock UCA.

Agreed. it’s also likely they are a Toyota shop where installing UCAs with coilovers is a must.
