Using headlamp as dome light

Last night, I came up with what I think is a slightly creative solution to the lack of interior lighting in the Bronco. As I was doing some other interior work, I realized the strap on my Sofirn HS21 headlamp was about the same width as the velcro straps I occasionally use to attach things to my molle panels. I decided to try using one of these straps to attach the headlamp to my DV8 overhead panel. It worked great, and gives me a battery powered dome light that can swivel. It's easy enough to take off and reattach to the head strap when I need it as an actual headlamp, but I may look into whether I can buy another plastic clip which would make things even easier to move the light back and forth.

I'm sure I'm probably not the first person to think of something like this, but I wanted to share in case it helps anyone else out there.

Be aware that in the case of a crash that will tear loose possibly hitting you in the head or bouncing off windshield into your face smashing it and your teeth.... because it was modded may not get coverage.....it's a great solution ....if can't get a Mustang Ford accessory led strip light that will put out 5X the light with no risk.​

Why....I would want to know.

Everything inside a car seems to fly around and out of the car in a crash. Having just swapped temp Velcro HD strap anchors for HDD Bungie straps after I experienced how fast they year out with just human careless force.....that's the only reason I mentioned the risk.

I’ve got a couple of those battery flashing bicycle lights that I strapped to my overhead molle in the back for extra light.

You should know that in case of a crash that thing will fly around the cabin, striking you in the head, teeth, and groin. You will then be ugly, toothless, and impotent - your wife will leave you and your kids will no longer be able to tolerate your presence. Also, these things will void your warranty...My God your warranty man!!

Got to love innovation! We use our rock lights as interior lighting on our Bronco... works perfect

Simple and effective. What is sad is that the interior light is so bad in the Bronco is so bad the aftermarket and shade tree inventors have to come up with solutions.
