Then who the f knows. I got nothing. Lol.It's up in every single shot I've found of the backseats of a 4DR, the overland walk-around, the one kid's DP racing ones.
It's definitely a feature.

Or MGV....but even then, why does the arm rest need support? It doesn't look like the bump is higher than the front of the seat so it could just lay there!?It looks to me to be support for the fold down armrest. Would have to compare it to cloth seats to see if it is there.
2 door with the cup holders and no butt bump! They fixed this design error with the 2-door.
For the More-Door, the process must be:2 door with the cup holders and no butt bump!
First off - "More-Door" is now in the public domain and I'm stealing that. For the More-Door, the process must be:
- Acquire 32 oz super big gulp soda
- fold down center arm rest
- insert cup firmly into butt of 5th passenger
- avoid middle butt hump
- force 5th passenger to sit on floor with butt in air
- enjoy that cool refreshing 32 oz soda, replace cup in butt
Just looked at the 360º view in the Build&Price. Looks down in that. Maybe it moves around during putting the seats up and down.?.?I RARELY plan to have 3 in the back, but what's with the butt bump for the middle passenger? Just to move them forward for more hip breathing room. I've never seen this before.
Also, yes it's a slow Friday why do you ask?
B&P doesn't even show the armrest for the leather seats. All the views have the disclaimer "pre-production model shown throughout" so I wouldn't put too much into B&P.Just looked at the 360º view in the Build&Price. Looks down in that. Maybe it moves around during putting the seats up and down.?.?
Just a screenshot from their third-party, computer generated, never fail B&P.B&P doesn't even show the armrest for the leather seats. All the views have the disclaimer "pre-production model shown throughout" so I wouldn't put too much into B&P.
If anything in your pic it looks like the center seat sits lower than the outside seats.
The shape of the middle seat seemed to match the armrest in the down position slope and the notch at the bottom of upright armrest matched the bump. Maybe not so much support but would keep it sturdier? The bump may also be more padding or a stop as the seat is folded forward for additional storage. Looks like it would be in contact with the center console.Or MGV....but even then, why does the arm rest need support? Ahhh yes. The B&P...Just a screenshot from their third-party, computer generated, never fail B&P.
Well at least we’re all swagging guesses - thought for sure when I posted that everyone else in the Bronco community KNEW what this was about and I was the idiot. The shape of the middle seat seemed to match the armrest in the down position slope and the notch at the bottom of upright armrest matched the bump. I'm just throwing out ideas. I really don't know.
