I noticed these while doing an oil change. There's nothing attached. They are not especially thick, and look like some type of accessory mount - radiator, intercooler, etc.

He must have sent the motor out to have the oil changed. Some people have waaaay to much time and money...
Wait, you can change the oil without pulling the motor? That's going to save some time...

Did I do it wrong? I thought it would be easier with everything removed.

He sent the whole engine in to have an oil sample done

Thanks Jose, that confirms my hunch. They really make me want to attach something though.
I cut mine off, they got in the way.

I assumed they were something for the oil cooler for the 2.7. Guess not.
