Was thinking I might be able to have a MIC top wrapped in white or black… any thoughts on this or is anyone else already in the process?

My wrap guy said he wouldn't be able to wrap the top because of the texture. He said it wont stick.
My vendors us 3M & Avery film. 🤷‍♀️
Maybe you can find someone that uses different film. Not too sure.

I agree with your wrap place. I had inquired in the past on wrapping some plastic elements, and they said it wouldn't stick or it wouldn't stick for very long. Something about the plastic giving off some gas that doesn't allow for the wrap to properly adhere.

Curious if this would improve the quality at all as well as the appearance. Interesting thought , hope someone does this and reports back.
I talked to a line x dealer and yes it will increase the durability
The appearance is different.
You can just spray line x and there will be a natural fade patina
You can also add UV protection and that will keep it nice and glossy.

You could probably cover the top in adhesion promotor, but it would ruin it. Kind of defeats the purpose. Maybe just have it painted like others have.

Can't image it's good for the whole weight thing with the top. I would be really cautious to mess with the top of all of the things, who knows if we're going to be getting top number 3 from Ford in a few months.

Depending on the thickness it’s .7 lbs per sq ft

Not A LOT of weight, but that would add up quick when start to realize the amount of surface area on the 4 door's top.
