I keep losing my right windshield accessory cap, is there something that needs to be done with the clip to make sure it attaches on correctly

I don't know of any specific trick. I had to pull mine to put weatherstripping behind them because of a rattle, but they seemed to snap back in ok?

super glue tends to always work, but some plumbers putty is not only cheap, but can mold into any shape and is 100% removable
