So my fiancé ordered her bronco 4 months ago and the whole time we’ve waited I’ve checked out this forum up and down and other places all over the web to find out if I can fit a 295/70/18 Tire on a 23’ Bronco Outer Banks (non sas)on the OEM Wheel (18”x 7.5”, 55mm offset) with no lift/level kit AND without removing the crash bars…. And I could not get a straight answer lol. Most ppl are under assumption or tell you you will have to remove crash bars! We just took delivery a few days ago and after the research I’ve done and things I saw, I decided to just go ahead and try for myself!

I’m happy to share everything worked out perfect, we got the factory OBX wheels powder coated all black and mounted Toyo Open Country AT3 295/70/18’s (34.3”x 11.6”) on. Bolted them on the vehicle and had ZERO issues!! No rubbing at all on ANYTHING! Lots of space between tire and control arm too, can fit my hand between the two! Also for those who don’t want any poke like myself, they fit perfectly within the fender flares! NO POKE! Such a simple, clean look! She’s really making heads turn!.. might not be the bronco tho 😜

and before anyone chimes in and says “don’t plan on doing any serious off-roading without a lift/level”… don’t worry lol this thing is going to be a pavement princess and mostly because she has to fit into a parkade where she works!… Also, in case anyone wonders how much space you do have with this setup, from the top of the tire to lowest part inside the wheel well is a hair under 5.5”!

Here’s a few pics of how she turned out!
Hope this helps anybody like myself who is looking to do this to their current or future bronco! :)

The problem is that the tires are too big to run safely without some modification. At some point, you could jeopardize your safety or that of another person, in an unplanned evasive maneuver that causes the tires to hit . . . Or an unplanned off-road trip. Encourage you to have a qualified shop check and recommend. Just because you can make them "fit" doesn't mean you should, or that you're safe, or that you're not liable.

Looks great! We are planning to powdercoat the OEM 18's and do the same tire size. Still undecided between a black or gunmetal on powder...

Wow, those look fantastic and thank you for sharing! I have new (takeoff) Wildtrack OEM SAS rims and was planning on going to with a 2" lift (Bilstein 6112's or FP non-sas coilovers) and 35's. However after driving my new OBX for past couple of weeks , don't really think it needs to be a lot higher so have been thinking about just going high enough for 35's. I would like a bit firmer suspension though...so many options. Stock OBX are 32's how big are your new tires, 33's?

Yeah! Gain 2.2” on the overall tire, 1.1” on the sidewall and 1.6” on the width too, quite a difference!

Thank you for the great information. I really appreciate it. I have been waiting 2 years for this vehicle. I was expecting different tires to be on it! The dealership wanted to charge me 10k to replace them.
