So my fiancé ordered her bronco 4 months ago and the whole time we’ve waited I’ve checked out this forum up and down and other places all over the web to find out if I can fit a 295/70/18 Tire on a 23’ Bronco Outer Banks (non sas)on the OEM Wheel (18”x 7.5”, 55mm offset) with no lift/level kit AND without removing the crash bars…. And I could not get a straight answer lol. Most ppl are under assumption or tell you you will have to remove crash bars! We just took delivery a few days ago and after the research I’ve done and things I saw, I decided to just go ahead and try for myself!

I’m happy to share everything worked out perfect, we got the factory OBX wheels powder coated all black and mounted Toyo Open Country AT3 295/70/18’s (34.3”x 11.6”) on. Bolted them on the vehicle and had ZERO issues!! No rubbing at all on ANYTHING! Lots of space between tire and control arm too, can fit my hand between the two! Also for those who don’t want any poke like myself, they fit perfectly within the fender flares! NO POKE! Such a simple, clean look! She’s really making heads turn!.. might not be the bronco tho 😜

and before anyone chimes in and says “don’t plan on doing any serious off-roading without a lift/level”… don’t worry lol this thing is going to be a pavement princess and mostly because she has to fit into a parkade where she works!… Also, in case anyone wonders how much space you do have with this setup, from the top of the tire to lowest part inside the wheel well is a hair under 5.5”!

Here’s a few pics of how she turned out!
Hope this helps anybody like myself who is looking to do this to their current or future bronco! :)

I assume full turn radius without any rub on crash bars?

That's very helpful. Ive also been trying to find out how big I can go on my wife's OBX & stock wheels without mods. The black looks great, but you could have included a picture with the other "head turner" in the drivers seat :)

Thanks for sharing. I have been wondering what my OBX wheels would look like powder coated.

You did have your system parameters fixed for the new geometry tires?

I got a set of Badlands rims cheap and put 295/70/17’s on them. No issues. I truly think a size bigger or two would probably fit. Your rims look great
