Not even considering the @ORACLE Lighting mirror enhancement without this mandatory change. It is an absolute NEED to tie this into the factory wiring and have them operate independently above 5mph. If I did tie them into an AUX switch that would mean they both turn on at the same time and that would be detrimental in some scenarios like cruising a campground. Yes, I could tie them into two different aux switches however that does not seem like a clean solution to me considering I don't have any more AUX switches to spare, AND there is already a factory solution in place to tie in to. Seems like logic to me, however, I don't have the forscan skills to do it, unfortunately.
Having the mirror lights on at any speed would be great! In the mean time I installed some ditch lights and they work great. Much brighter and can see farther out than the mirror lights even with the wide beam pattern I got.
I've actually changed my mind about this since my last post on June 17th. I went ahead and bought the Oracle mirror lights and tied them to an AUX switch. So now have those and they face forward and outward and also have the factory ones which face outward only. So the coverage between the two seems perfect to me since the coverage from the Oracle's do overlap the factory ones. Yes, the factory ones still turn off above 5mph but I no longer care since they don't hold a candle to the power the Oracle's have.
For $440, I think I'll pass. Just not what I was looking for. I would do pods up front and a light bar for that amount of green. There *should* be a Forscan tweak .... but as others have found, appears NOT to me.
