I know this may not be for everyone, or maybe anyone but me. I'm not a huge fan of black wheels, I feel like the details of the wheel are lost. So I decided to have my factory Sasquatch wheels powder coated bright silver metallic. The Bronco needs a wash badly but I had to get some pics after I put them on.

UPDATES:

Thanks for the compliments, I honestly expected a much different reaction, much appreciated!

I'll try to go through the questions.
-Cost was $750 all in. (It's AK everything is more expensive)
-Mud flaps are just universal flat flaps.
-I wanted to replace the beauty ring bolts with stainless steel for a little more pop but I couldn't get any locally in time.

I do plan on paint work, grill will have the outer edge painted blue to match and a very close silver to the wheels used on the center to look like a gen 1. Additionally I plan on painting the flares and the MIC top Velocity Blue to match. I believe this will tie it all together more.

I ran it through the car wash tonight and being clean makes a huge difference, I'll get better pics tomorrow in daylight.

Here's clean with a little sunlight.
I'm loving it more and more as the days go on.

I'm contemplating something somewhat similar, but my big problem is likely going to get those bolts in silver...

I think that’s awesome. Though I’ve had 2 vehicles with black wheels, I still prefer silver. When/if I ever get my dream Bronco, I’ve got some brushed Methods in the garage waiting on it.

btw, what mud flaps are those?

I guess I’m not an old fart yet, but I’m getting there. I do like black wheels, but I kinda feel the same way about these damn kids and the newer bronze wheel fad.

How well does the powder coat hold up to use? Will the black show through pretty quick with normal scratches?

Saw a purple Toyota MR2 with Yellow alloy wheels. Let that sink in. Yellow. I totally dig individuality, and Pink Floyd, but I don't want my car to look like the cover of a concept album from the good old days 🤩

I would’ve gone a few shades darker, but I think it looks good.

If you have Dentwizard refinishing in your city, they usually charge $100 per wheel to do them. I had a couple sets done when I lived in Phoenix. The pictures of my 2015 Touareg below show the second set of wheels I had done after the tire shop scratched the factory finish.

The stock wheel finish is blasted off before they coat the surface, so gouges would show raw aluminum. Powder coating is plenty durable, most aftermarket wheels that aren’t machined or chromed are powder coated.

The manager at the body shop where my Bronco is being repaired told me the powder coating surface is 10X harder than paint and will last way longer. He recommends powder coating over painting anytime someone wants to paint their wheels. $100 a wheel must be pretty standard. Lone Star Powder Coating charges $100 a wheel. Several others on here have mentioned that price!

Looks great. Kudos. If/when I ever get my Big Bend I’ll do the same.
