Year 2 with my bronco Pepper has been non-stop and I wanted to share some of the adventures we've enjoyed:
How it started:
Year 1 with Pepper
How Pepper has changed:
22k mi travelled
Mabett grab handles
SFR front skid plates
Where Pepper has been:
I added quite a few patches this year to say the least, here is a recap on the trips we have shared:
Grand Teton and Yellowstone:
Picture perfect weekend, some of the most scenic breakfast and lunch spots imaginable. Took everything off and went for a sunset cruise.
Labor Day weekend:
Full weekend of exploring! Started with Kodachrome basin which I had essentially to myself. Next day stopped on Bryce. Third day we headed to Escalante for some slot canyons. Finally we stopped at Capitol Reef on our way home for some nice fruit pies.
City of Rocks:
Climbing trip to castle rocks. Stripped Pepper down and drove to the top of the mountain through the golden leaves.
Golden Spike:
Stopped by the Golden Spike on my way to Spiral Jetty for some sunset views.
Arches and Canyonlands:
Quick stop at Arches before the main event in Canyonlands - white rim road. Was the support vehicle for 3 bikers over 2 days, took some fun detours. 1000% recommend for anyone's bucket list.
Vegas:
Didn't only enjoy Vegas for Vegas but saw some gorgeous nature in the downtime. Valley of fire state park, red rock canyon and Hoover dam were all incredible.
Kanab:
Inaugural trip for my BroncoBox sleeping platform which I'll share about eventually. Camped around the reservoir for a disc golf tournament, enjoyed Coral Reef Sand Dunes and Zion in the downtime. Had to pull out some tourists and their rented Volvo out of the deep sand.
Dinosaur National Monument:
Super underrated park! Seeing dinosaur bones in the earth untouched was great but the cherry on top was the drive to the top of the nearby mountain. Took the "harder" route down which included big rocks, tight trees and a river crossing.
Escalante:
Solo trip to my favorite place in Utah. Drove all the way down to Hole in the Rock, exploring many hikes on the way there and back.
Tetons and Yellowstone round 2:
Back again, this time for a family trip, filled with more scenic meal stops.
Grand Tetons, round 3:
Again, I know, but if you have ever been to the Tetons you would understand why I keep going back.
Canada Road Trip:
The big 2200 mi road trip! Drove up to Canada to meet some friends for backpacking in Banff, which deserves all the hype. Meant to spend a couple days in Glacier on the way back but due to rain, called an audible and went to Craters of the Moon.
Future:
Have some plans, many more will pop up, regardless looking forward to a fantastic Year 3!
