Hey guys, just thought I’d share. I have a Base 2D MT that I picked up about a month ago now- I love it! I had plans on lifting it and going with 35’s and some aftermarket rims, but I stumbled upon @BudgetBronco ‘s previous thread (awesome and thank you!) and loved the look of the 33’s with the stock rims that I have certainly grown attached to!

After some research, I came across a really good deal thru Walmart for the Thunderer Trac Grip M/T R408 Mud Terrain LT285/75R16 tires. They’re a budget tire but the reviews on some other truck forums gave me the confidence to give them a try. The price was certainly budget friendly, after tax I paid about $745 for 5 tires delivered to the store.

Once they arrived, the next step was finding a local shop to put them on as Walmart wouldn’t touch it, due to liability with the factory rim size. After loading up 3 of the tires in the back seat I went shop to shop until I stumbled upon Precision Tune Auto Care in Roseville, MN. The staff there were awesome and super friendly, they had no issues installing all 5 for me and it looks awesome! Huge improvement from stock, and I love how good this looks with the wheels!

It rides great and I honestly feel like the bigger tire and the MT were made for each other!

First two pictures are stock for comparison!

Looks good! Base manual 2-door with some aftermarket tires is one of the biggest bangs in terms of cost/fun.
Couldn’t agree more!

Beautiful! I specifically remember seeing this exact photo of yours as I was doing my research on the forum. That is one of favorite colors! I love black but it wasn’t my first choice, I found this one about a month ago and jumped on it. It was an abandoned order and they wanted $8k ADM. I called the dealership and said I’ll come buy it if they removed the $8k and an hour later they called back and said deal!

Looks nice. Today one can find reviews of products, such as, tires on the web. Back in the day one took their chances on off brand inexpensive tires. I once bought a set of tires branded Super Mohawks. The price was unbelievably right, but as I watched the tech mounting the tires on my rims, I got a tad concerned when he would put his fingers in his ears as he inflated them. LOL….BTW, they turned out to be a smidge more durable than a standard balloon. That tech had experience with that brand.

Thank you! I actually did not know that was an option, very interesting. Although I will say I was wanting the 11” width versus 10” on the stock tires, just gives it a bit beefier look.
