Sad and happy post, my kiddo and I are ok, but wanted to share info. We were in a head on collision coming home Wednesday night (12/14). A lady crossed over into our lane on a undivided hwy (loop 567). I saw it coming, hoping she would correct or move, I moved over on the shoulder as far as I could and swerved left at the last second as to not take it directly head on. So happy to say the kiddo was not harmed at all. Car seat in the middle of the back seat hooked into the points. The Bronco took the hit like a champ, it stayed rigid, all safety features worked, and went into a crash mode perfectly. The passenger side interior was ok as well, it did not crush in. I am 10x more of a fan than I already was (if that’s possible, Sept 2021 delivery day 1 res).

Great job Ford and your engineers. Thank you, I have no doubt the Sasquatch build helped a great deal. My Bronco is done, but we are so thankful and it’s a great day.

Damn, glad you're both ok. Sorry to see the Bronco in that condition but you have a great attitude about it!

That's a good news/bad news report in the extreme. You'll get lots of similar remarks. One thought occurred to me: you might contact Ford, as they might be interested in a forensic analysis of the damage. And who knows, maybe they can help you work out a replacement.

Any info on the other driver? Her condition? What happened? (Drowsiness, texting, old-age carelessness?)

Last thought: collect and hold hard copy of any and all paperwork regarding your insurance claim, including email, texts, and summaries of phone conversations. Police reports, ID or names of 1s responders and unit assignations. Anything...everything. The more documentation you have, the better your case. Also options and accessories. You might go after the other driver in a civil action for losses insurance refuses to cover.

Very last thought for everybody: The above applies to us all, but take images (if possible) of the accident scene from various angles, including parts and road debris (e.g. glass). This will help establish who was traveling in which direction and in which lane at the time of impact. I notice in the image 1st responders are checking out the roadside vegetation. Images of her car down there would also help.

I am glad to hear that everyone is ok. You will have injuries that take some time to show themselves though. Right now your adrenaline is still pumping. Document EVERYTHING! Tell your doctor everything, no matter how insignificant it seems. Make sure you get a lawyer right away.

I went through this 8 years ago. It is very traumatic. It sure makes you appreciate air bags, crumple zones and all of the other safety improvements that we often take for granted.

All good tips, the other driver was unlikely to make it. Meth was located in vehicle by PD. Her vehicle was 15 yards down the hill, not going to post those pics out of respect for the family. Dodge 4 door sedan. Speed limit on that road is 65.
Stay alert out there folks!

With two toddlers / car seats in the back of mine. I love / hate to see these posts. Glad everyone is ok and glad the car protected everyone!

Not to make light of the situation ... but WHAT is the deal with this rig? Volunteer? Looks like an awfully nice king ranch fire rig.

It completely shattered the wheel, the tire somehow ended up on the complete other side.

Probably too late, but you should snag the roofline Accessory covers - like it popped off in the accident. People are losing those left and right. You can be a hero to someone.

Same with other easily removable components (like Fender Flares, etc.). Glad all are OK.

Glad you are ok, sad about both the vehicle and the other driver.
You just never know.
You seems to have a very reasonable, positive, and respectful approach about it all.
I wish you the best of luck with the details in the near future, glad you and the little one are safe and sound.
