Last week FMI released this folding tailgate table that has a built-in plate for mounting PACKOUT tool boxes. Here's some pics and details from the foutz website for anyone interested in what the features are, etc.

I honestly think this new set up is awesome and i would like to know what other Bronco owners think - feel free to let me know your thoughts

I love this idea... Although I have a tailgate table already, I'm inspired to leverage ways to incorporate my Packout boxes. This is a great way of combing two very useful resources.

First thought is, this is awesome. Second thought is, wow that's gonna be a lot of noise of things moving around in the toolboxes if it's attached to the truck.

True... but I already use Packouts in various configurations when I head out in my Bronco.... so needless to say, there is a bit of rattling and noise already. It's a work in progress.

Cool concept. I would rather see a pack out mount for cargo side mount type setups.
BuiltRight sells molle packout mounts that can be used on any of the molle panels. Not sure if that's what you're referring to...

Thought the same thing and my mind immediately started to think of ways to line those pack out compartments with foam... Rubberized foam? Carpet underlayment? use some super 77 or super 99?

100% would close it forgetting there's something underneath and sheer it off the tailgate.
Oof I would too.

Really cool concept though, too bad I'm locked into another brand storage system.

Looks great however $580 plus taxes and probably shipping fees too?? Lots of other options for a more reasonable price IMHO.

Two things about this

It's a neat idea, but...

Packout is meant to be mounted horizontally - most everything assumes it will be laying flat and mounted to a horizontal packout mount. A lot of tool bags, boxes, even things like floor lights, chargers and coffee cups.

Now, the closed stuff will mount vertically, but you can't open it up while it's mounted that way or everything will just dump out. So that limits the usefulness. I guess it gets it out of the way... if you were pretty specific with what you wanted mounted - like maybe a spot light, a case with your impact in it and a socket set or something. But that's getting pretty specific, and it's not really anything that you couldn't already do with molle.

They do have foam inserts for specific packout boxes. That would be one way to limit noise. Something like P/N 48-22-8453

You can also buy wall-mount plates from Milwaukee, the large one would fit with some finagling, or a couple of the smaller ones would fit. PN 48-22-8486 and 48-22-8487. Even with the Milwaukee tax on them they are drastically cheaper than this option (although I admit, this option is ready-to-use with bolting, you'd still have to figure something out with the wall plates to mount it). The mounts that @Arokcrwlr pointed out work as well, and are ready to bolt into a regular tailgate-mounted molle panel, and even with the cost of a third party molle and the hooks it's still cheaper than this solution.

As neat of an idea as I think it is, I just can't really see the practicality of it beyond a few pretty specific items. But if you have those items, it would be nice.

My $0.02 - solutions like this are far more useful in the cargo area than on the tailgate. I have MOLLE panels in the back of my Bronco and use them to lash things like water carriers, gear storage boxes, etc. Ford really did not think through the design of the the cargo area very well. There are no provisions for tie down rails and points whatsoever. Would have been great to have them both on the back of the seats as well as the bottom and side of the cargo areas.
