I wanted to pay certified cheque. They straight up said I cant because of laundering. I too was able to put 2k on CC for points. I dont know, I believe they could be screwing with me. My dealer is on this Forum, perhaps he will chime in :/ They mentioned also they wouldnt be able to get it over the border if I paid cash... and there would be extra fees/taxes. Im too gullible I guess and was too intimidated to speak up.
That is 100% BS. It's unfortunate that they stated all that - Certified cheque means you went to the bank and had it all done up officially; it's not a suitcase of money. When you do a down payment for a house you use certified cheque, and that's usually more than a vehicle!

Wow!
I can’t believe the “arrogance” of some people!
Questioning peoples “intelligence”
because “ they” are NOT in debt.
Wow!!!

Matter how you look at it….
The borrower is always slave to the lender. Period.

Wow! Un-effing-believable!

I paid cash for a 2021 Ranger last week, so my cash option has been removed for my pennies are all gone.

Alternatively, I have n+1 months to wait because of allocations. I might have more pennies by then to pay cash. However, I'm not going to say no when the Bronco comes because I don't have cash. Finance will be an option that I do not want to take, but will.

Might take out a home re-fi loan now and pay at the low rates to "save" the possibility of a rate hike by MY2023 when my Bronco will likely be ready. Options...

Canadian here, not sure how the rates compare to the States.

3.5% interest loan on the Bronco vs 20% I'm getting on the market. Financing as much as possible so I can put more info the market - 3.5% is sooooo cheap.

How are you digging the Ranger? I'm watching the rumor mill for Raptor specs. I may find that of interest for myself.

Please show me a savings account (from an FDIC insured institution) that is paying higher than 0.99%.
...Anyone who keeps large amounts of money in a bank today is not thinking right...being paid .99%,when today's inflation is at 7 %...well it should be self explanatory..

Money in the bank gives one piece of mind. Knowing I can pay cash takes the monkey off my back. You never know what life event may come up where you have to dip into your mattress stash.

My investments are earning a higher percentage than I'm paying in the auto loan. So, I put just enough down to get the best rates and leaving my money in the investments. I think that's smarter money on the long run.
