Things have definitely changed since then.
Yeah,
There are a lot of great components for someone like me that isn’t going to go crazy. The suspension and extreme duty steering rack are really the selling points for me. Right now I have a non-SAS Black Diamond which has been amazing. I have absolutely no complaints about it. But by the time I do thru and upgrade to similar components, I am at or beyond the price of the Wildtrak.

Then programing the steering rack, the front axle and a few other things and you are running a Frankenstein Bronco. As it is, these things have quirks. I’ve spent long enough in military aviation to know that once you start reprogramming and splicing into systems, everything will almost work 🤣

I’m not going to use it to its full capability and quite honestly as my Black Diamond sits, I won’t use it to its capability. I’ve read that the suspension on the Wildtrak is amazing and comfortable, which combined with the steering rack makes it all worth it to me.

I just wish I had this when I was still stationed out in Colorado. Not a lot of off-road place close to Western NY that I know about🤣

You touch on some interesting points, especially fitness of deliverables from factory, aftermarket and custom.

Custom is the biggest crapshoot, since it could be anything.

You hope Ford-supported aftermarket is well-integrated but you don't really know.

And of course, Ford does have engineers, so while it's not always great shakes, Ford does generally support the contraptions they put together. Oftentimes engineered well short of wonderful, since that's often hard or expensive to support.

I had a coworker for years who was a groundsman for the SR-71 and he used to say every flight was a guess. The more custom it gets, the more opportunity for failure. These things we think we want are literally cut in with torches and saws. I guess my hope is that the KOH is a happy enough medium between brawn (Braptor) and desire (real deal awesome 🌈 ).

Bronco KOH?
Ford Bronco KOH Edition or Bronco Raptor? 46B5755A-4A5E-4913-8B12-C3478CA0F57F

That’s a Big Nope! But a Braptor could fill the gap

That's... Not the KOH Bronco? (The one on the left isn't even a 6g.) At least not what we're talking about here. What we're talking about is more akin to a Shelby Mustang.

If you could understand my picture, you would know that’s the answer to the question.

The Braptor like the Raptor was built for the High Speed Desert Racing like Baja 1000 or The Mint.

KOH ain’t real racing, just ask Big Oly

I think it will be. It looks like a good suspension upgrade based on the website. That is probably the biggest draw as far as performance goes. I say that because I am counting on the fact that the suspension tune was done after the bumpers and winch was put on.

Looks like a lot of things on it are for aesthetics, such as special seat trim, graphics, build plate, etc….Bumpers, tires, wheels, winch, not a big deal. I’m curious on what they did for armor underneath. If they went with aluminum and then put the plastic layer on it, to allow sliding over rocks easier…..

I would also like to see if they did anything for the steering rack and tie rods or if they left them stock.

The front grill on a few pics I saw show and Outer Banks grille and a Badlands grill. So you asking a question on what platform they are building on is a great question. Also, if it is starting off as a Sasquatch or non-SAS…..

These Broncos are all really capable right off the lot, no matter which trim level you start with. Only a few are going to get to the capabilities of the vehicle. The rest of us are just driving them because we like the look and performance/manners on the road….AND it is not a Jeep🤣 Definitely a far cry from my 66 Bronco I owned several years ago.

If I were smart, I’d just throw the Ford Performance Lift on my Black Diamond with 35s and call it good. Once I break something or get into a spot where I really needed something, then I upgrade. BUT…..I’m not that smart 🤪

The KOH isn't about pure racing pedigree (that was my point). It's not a checkmate scenario to say that when the question is what do you want in a Bronco. Not everybody needs or even wants that, or wants what Ford sells as the premium. You can want a Braptor all day, doesn't make it everyone's choice. Support what you have to say. Flex isn't a point, it's a pose.

See, this is the pissing match. Explain your point. How? What am I missing? I guess it's all runes and fairies otherwise.
WTF are you babbling about? Pissing Contest? Explain my point?

This is the Internetz. Give your balls a tug and calm yourself down.

I stated my opinion.

You want a pissing contest?

How about we see who can piss up a rope? You can go first

Yes, you did. Looking back, I didn't get your point. I want to know why people like the Braptor so much. Comparing it to the KOH is a good example of learning something; if that's what you have to offer, so be it. I just want to know why people want them, in comparison to something else that is excellent.

Sorry for the excitability. And y'know, the picture you posted is interesting, I just didn't get it right away.

I th

The Wildtrak with HOSS 3.0 did exceptional in that race.
If I lived in the Desert Southwest, the Wildtrack would be my choice especially a 2D in White so I could make it look like this one
