I was at a park here in DFW once and went to go over a large hump (following a 4dr) and somehow ended up only seeing sky. When my ride partner finally came back, he said I was at least 3ft off the ground on one side and tipped maybe 40deg back? I guess a 4dr makes that easier than a 2dr. The only difference here was that I was stuck staring up for about a minute. After about 20s I realized I could let go of the wheel and just sit back.

I made a couple of mistakes and accidentally set a record for most air in a Bronco on The Staircase at Hell's Revenge in Moab, Utah. My friend describes what he saw at the end. This video includes POV from the dash-mounted GoPro as well as from a friend standing on the hill. I still get anxious watching this!😆
Was your sta-bar disconnected? Front passenger doesn't look very stuffed to me.

Well done much better than my attempt in 2023. Bad spotting ended up on my side. Great video. I love Moab.

You know, I thought it was, because I usually do, but as I'm thinking about it now, I may have pressed the disconnect button while I was pressing the lockers and not realized I may not have been in the right mode for sta-bar disconnect.

It was at this point that I had no idea the wheel was even that far off the ground, because things seemed pretty level from inside. When I felt the tire bounce after contact, I realized, "Oh, the tire must have been off the ground." :) It's interesting how things can seem so different inside vs. outside, depending on the situation. There have been times when it seemed a hill was much steeper while in the Bronco, but then looking at it from outside it looks like child's play.

There's a moment where I'm going up the hill after that you can hear me let out this, "whew!" 😆

It's a GoPro 9. I had an old 4 and was looking to upgrade. I researched and found out that from the 9 on, the stability control is fantastic. When I'm off-roading, it locks in the video and everything looks like it's a smooth trail until you see the hood of the Bronco bouncing up and down and side to side. I bought a used 9 because I could save money vs. a new one. I'm not sure what the differences are in the newer models, but I think they are more incremental.

Not bad hit the same area on Cliffhanger in Moab this year. Will fix the damage down the road when it gets to bad. Rock on.

Once all you can see is sky, you really have no idea what angle you are at. I had the pitch and roll gauge displayed but couldn't take my eyes off looking forward to check it. Probably was for the best, as I might have freaked out. 😆
