Funniest thing that's ever happened. I was driving my 24 wildtraks. I always drive with my right hand around 4 o'clock. Hahaha this warning box comes up on my dash stating I should be driving with 2 hands at 12 and 3. Omg I almost crashed. Too funny.

I took an advanced defensive driving course and our hands are at 9 and 3. I used it in a real life situation and it works!

My Kids were taught 4 and 8 on the wheel in Drivers Ed in the 2000s, they were told that putting your hands anywhere above the center line could cause you too hit yourself if the airbag goes off...

I think they change the positions every couple years just cuz all the injury statistics change that often.

I was taught right wrist at noon. Left hand dangling with elbow out window. But that’s my dad’s advice. RIP. Edit: my dad also had a cig in his left hand. Edit also please bring back vent windows. I’d take them over a v-8 under the hood

I ordered my Jeep XJ with vent windows, because I didn’t order AC. Didn’t see the need to pay $500 for AC that would only be used for a couple weeks a year.
Got sent to Phoenix for 6 months and vent windows worked fine.
But I did regret not getting AC. Didn’t realize it was used for defogging when defrosting windows.

My f-150 would show me a message and suggested to have a. rest with an image of steaming cup of coffee. These new cars are so sophisticated these days.
A few more years from now I fully expect it to say, “pardon me, would have any grey poupon?”

I can only say why can’t we have both? Manufacturers I’m sure find it much cheaper to not have vent windows.. But man vent windows are great to have.

I also learned that at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. Thanks Ford!!

Also, NEVER grab the steering wheel from inside the wheel. So many people do that when making a turn and I shake my head. It’s a very weak way to turn wheel, especially if you need to make an emergency counter maneuver.
