If they're different than what you have, yes you should change them.

RoverDude,

I believe you're saying to change only the specific alpha-neumeric characters in the spreadsheet you show in given columns for various modules (besides the TRM which start with 791-...). The TRM (791-... ) characters should show exactly as shown in spreadsheet).

In the other modules (e.g. IPCM starting with 720-..., if vehicle has them, the xxx's are not to be changed because they are specific to the individual VIN due the various trims, packages, options, etc. (i.e. they're vehicle specific and not tow module related).

From what I found regarding ford's part identificationS2e.g. S2DT-19H378-BA.

S2DT specifies the year and model of the applicable vehicle.

19H378 is the base engineering part number for module trailer brake, in this case.

B is the variant, for example could represent left hand or right hand drive.

A, at the very end, is the release or revision identifier (letter).

If there's a revision to BA, then the new suffix will be BB, then BC, and so forth.

Parts with later revisions should work / fit for previous (superceded parts).

Happy, safe, enjoyable Thanksgiving to all.

S2DT-19H378-BA is correct for MY 2025+( not for years prior)

See below for 2025 setting.
The TRM is much larger (more lines/ different, it a diffrent firmware module for 2025+)
also The ipc is slightly different
720-03-02 requires (2) changes

These are what I gave EastALHijet, and they confirmed it worked (for them)
as always:
back your own setting beforehand, and use at your own risk

Let me know if you have any issues

I just wanted to say thank you to RoverDude.
Just installed hitch and module on my 2025 and changed all these settings with ForScan and all seems to work with no codes. Great job!

Awesome sauce!

Just an FYI to anyone reading this in the future

Reminder. The common trailer light tester (on Amazon.) that has a single LED for each pin/light group NOT be seen by the bronco's system (it won't say "trailer connected" on the dash. when you plug in the tester).
Those testers do not have enough load typically to be seen.

Do you know of one that tricks the bronco into thinking a trailer is attached? I did buy one of those 4 pin/7 pin combo testers and it doesn't seem to trick the bronco. I can't get the Trailer Light Check functions to work through the app or the screen. When I manually trigger the turn signals, the lights are working though.

There is a distinction relative to which version / type of lights you have / are testing and with which specific tester. Certain 6G models / trim packages (& MYrs) come stock with either LED or halogen bulbs. I have a '25 Big Bend with Black Diamond package which came with halogen break / tail lights and I got the Amazon 'NeaLia 7 Pin Trailer Plug Tester, 7 Way Wiring Tester for RV, ... Connector' to work fine on mine. I tow a boat (<3,000#s) and also use our RV to flat tow our Bronco with no problems.

After using / following Rover Dude's help & some experimentation, I have the ability to test the trailer's lights without leaving the driver's seat.

Regarding which lights you may have, check out related threads like https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/from-halogen-to-led-all-taillights-replacement-options.89978/.

One word of caution to all who've gone the DIY tow package is to make sure you tell the mechanics (Ford / other) that you have the TRM installed and configured. I took mine in for a recall and the tech apparently reloaded the stock as-built from Ford - removing the TR Module from display panel / settings / functionality. I checked before leaving and had them reload which they didn't fully restore the full TRM related menu. Apparently Ford does not update their as-built database to reflect that a TRM has been added.

Good luck / happy / safe 2026.

Just got back to this. I started from scratch and followed these instructions again, but it still leaves this DTC code that I cannot reset. As indicated, when I start the car the check-engine light does NOT come on (“Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC”). But I’ve tried to reset it and re-read DTS and it’s still there:

Code: U0137 - Lost Communication With Trailer Brake Control Module

Status (-0A):
- DTC Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC

Module: Instrument Panel Control Module

Maybe it’s not important…?
Did you ever figure out how to clear this DTC code? I just installed my trailer module and configured everything with Forscan according to this thread. Everything is working except I'm getting this same DTC error code (Code: U0137 - Lost Communication With Trailer Brake Control Module).

The tow module, trm (trailer relay module)
Fords own description, a referencing the same thing.
The Lost communication could or might be simply when you programmed the module, and it reboots. Because for a few milliseconds it does lose communication if it's system talking to it.

When I installed mine I disabled trailer brake controller in the IPC module, because I have no controller. No errors

So I have the signatures from the factory. How does this play into if these testers should work from the app and the screen?

Was the recall for the rear camera? If it is electronics related I can see them reflashing the as built data I suppose. Good to know and a good reason why you should save your changed settings. Would make reflashing the reflash easier haha.

Is it just one line to change in order to enable the Trailer brake module on the 2025? I have tow module activated by dealership.
