This morning, after a failed Mustang drive, that left us stranded for 1.5 hours maybe 2-3 miles from our house, I decided to start laying out the plans for her rear storage box. Just ordered all the Jungledotcom parts and the boat decking color she picked out. All of it should be here by Wednesday.

In the morning, we're going to Lowe's to get the top piece of Oak plywood and 2x4's for the frame. Cannot use 2x6's, like I did with mine, as the top would be taller than the seats when folded down.... I'll attempt to get it finished this week, but it'll be a busy week/weekend for me!

Update to my wife's cargo box build! Got the wood, paint, and screws last weekend at Lowe's. Ordered the rest of the parts from Amazon.

The foam boat decking got here the next day, but our awful USPS screwed up delivering the locks & hooks, screwed up so bad that it said it was sitting in their hub for 3 days, then the 4th day, it was magically in our mailbox after I got home from work Thursday...

Today is our yearly massive Mustang and All Ford Show, which will devour the majority of my day today, but hopefully tomorrow, I can get the box built or maybe even finished? I will post pics and a cost list, if anyone's interested?

@KRAKEN

Good to finally meet you Andy!

Butterscotch and Kraken met for the first time today at the 46th Annual Mustang and All-Ford Powered Show!

A 74 Bronco won 1st, the Blue/White mall-crawler won 2nd, and Andy won 3rd.

For yall that don't know, my wife didn't win anything, due to the fact that my Mustang was also in the show and since I'm a paying local Mustang club member, that meant we were both excluded from being judged... I will not being a paying member next year! That was a new rule this year, after 45 years...

So, yesterday, I finally had a chance to build the storage box for my wife's Bronco. Start to finish took about 8-10 hours and when I was done, I was absolutely worn out, but here are the pics and progress!

Nice job
Looks really good. Might not be able to make the upcoming trail ride. I have to schedule a full knee replacement surgery. Wife had one last year, now it's my turn.

I can't get my 2 door rear seats to lay that flat. Do I need to crawl in and bounce on them?

Looks good!

You have to pull the bottoms up and move them vertically to the back of the front seats, then the back part of the rear seats will lay flat. I can take a pic of my wife's Bronco if you need to see it visually?

Well, I know I am, because you can see how it goes in this pic of hers...

Thanks for posting the photo. I had to jiggle the seat a bit to get the seat back to go all the way down. Meh, it's on my list to remove the back seats anyway.

It's best to pull both front seats forward, before dropping the rear seats down, I assumed that was common sense, LOL!?

Before you remove the rear seats completely, you might to either look at my Minty build thread or my storage box thread, to see how to "hide" the things you don't need anymore.

It' wasn't merely pulling the seat base forward. I had to wiggle them forward before the seat backs would drop down into place.
