My "must have" was a garage, my wife's was a fireplace....

...guess what two things the house we bought doesn't have.

Go ahead... take your time...

...I'll wait.

;)
Well if you guys are in the St. Louis area I’d be more than happy to help you find a house that has both lol. (Always hustling. I’ve got a Bronco to pay for)

My garage door upper casing is 83-1/4” from the floor. I measured the black Badlands on 33’s at super cel east to be 79” from ground to the top of the roof rail cross bars. I’m getting a Badlands on 33’s with roof rails so I’m good to go.

Wait... Gramma wasn't sitting out on the porch... was she?
What do you think we do with 5 point harnesses that are out of date........

Yep, my buddy measured his garage opening, good to go.
Then I got the call, truck stuck with the opener lift bar embedded in the roof.
No problem, the truck tires have valve stems.

I went through all this years ago f250 6in lift 37s i live on the coast so keeping it outside is a death sentence ,cut the top opening larger and backed it with a flitch plate of 5/16 12"x16' steel sandwiched with wood and lag bolts . Then the key part is the door has to be a zero clearance door it has 2 tracks so it goes flat when up.hope this helps someone.

We built a new house a couple years ago and made sure to get 8' doors (have about 93" opening) and went 27' deep on the garage. Out of the norm here, most garages are only 20' to 21' deep in this area. But that extra 6'-7' made such a big difference.
your garage sounds bigger than a lot of apartments where I live in the big East

By design, average 3 car garage in the Austin area is about 600 sq/ft, mine is about 1000 sq/ft. Part of the reason I built a new house a few years ago.

Holy crap. My whole apartment is a little under 1300 sq.ft. Market value is somewhere around $1M due to New Yorkers coming across the river for a “bargain.”

Also have about a 650 sq/ft covered patio with with built in counter/grill and a TV on the back of the house. Since we built a custom house were able to add some unique features.

Housing values (and prop taxes) have been shooting up in this area with all the companies and people moving here.

My 3 car garage is 1000 square feet. But in Idaho they call it a 5 car garage because theoretically you could stick a couple of more cars deeper into it. In reality the extra space contains a bunch of large shelf units filled with stuff my wife can't part with.

Same here. We had our house built. I feel like my 1,200sq ft. garage is too small, lol.

FYI. If you have an electric garage door opener with a T-Handle on the end of the disconnect string you may have a negative interaction with roof rack crossbars. The day we decided to park the expedition in the middle of the garage versus off to the side got a little exciting.
