As I read through member's posts I find there is an extreme range of people that have lined up to buy the new Bronco.

People are at different stages of their life and the type of vehicle that is the Bronco can fill many duties in ordinary daily life as well as the dream that most cannot, or will not, live. I know that many of us buy vehicles with the intentions of keeping them but then life happens and that new car smell can be intoxicating. Some trade every year or two, some keep a vehicle till the loan is paid off then trade, while others buy and just keep adding to their fleet.

Wondering how the marketing sampling represented by B6G will play out.

I put 4 to 6 years - because I know at that time - I can upgrade or change colors - etc. Typically I would answer keeping it more than 10 years - but I think the values will remain high and that puts us in a better position for switching them out every few years. Unless the first one is perfect. :)

Personal reasons for me. Sometimes a car is more than it's parts. Our daughter knows not to sell it when we're gone either. Beyond that, there may not be the sentimental reason for the eventual grandkids to hang on to it.

Till death do us part, lol.

At least from what I've seen so far, Ford has hit a home run with the new Bronco. To deliver an open top/doors off rugged 4x4 in this day and age? Fantastic. And I tend to hang onto vehicles like grim death.

Length of ownership is also why I'm so much more interested in longevity of the essentials (motor/trans/drivetrain/etc), and less so in some of the extras (which also tend to break/malfunction long term and cost time and money to repair).

I'm especially hoping 10 years from now, owners are all talking about how Ford delivered with a strong long lasting and trouble free manual transmission (fingers crossed).

I'm pragmatic about machines in general, there may be something wrong with a mass produced part but warranty will usually catch that, past there the truth is regular maintenance is the key to longevity, especially fluid changes. The 2.7 and 10 speed trans have years on the design and have a good reputation at this point. Both differentials are Dana, and we know they know what they are doing. In today's age, with the internet, problems a certain vehicle may have are soon well-known and one can usually "fix" before it causes you to be stranded. Each and every part can be replaced, and with the Bronco being mass produced by the tens, if not hundreds, of thousands spare parts should be cheap and plentiful.

Now if I was one of those people that have to pay someone to work on my stuff, I'd be trading every 100K miles. But, I'm not; I buy new and maintain well.

My current vehicle will have its 18th birthday this year and I'm keeping it for my sons.

There is a good chance my Bronco will be used to escort me to the Supremely Senior Viillage Estates.

bought my Taco 18 years ago this summer, that might give you an idea. I don't like buying cars, don't like spending time in dealerships and talking to sales people and all that price haggling (thankfully a lot less nowadays with the internet). I don't need this rig, but after 18 years in my truck, I'm getting me what I always wanted (and Ford somehow magically figured out and designed for me). I plan to keep the Bronco for a long time, if it holds up. Who knows if that screen and computer will still work down the road, let alone get updates and support in 18 years, we haven't really had much all that that tech in years that long ago. If it gives me constant issues it'll be gone faster than I got it, I'd have no patience to fix around on a newish car for a year.

Maybe there's a great hybrid coming out in a couple years, I might upgrade then as most of my driving is a couple miles around town, a couple times a week. Would not mind to never have to buy gas unless I go on a trip.

But if it holds up and doesn't give me any issues, I'll keep it for a long time.

I’m planning on keeping it for at least 10-15 years. It will most likely be my last manual and gas powered car.

I will upgrade to an EV off roader especially if there’s 700-1000 mile batteries. These damn things are going to weigh 8000lbs.
